Best of 2013; Beauty

Here we go for 2014 everybody, and what else is better than talking about last year? hahaha. I'm just kidding, but I AM going to tell you what I used the most last year. The best of my entire makeup collection. I found myself drawn to these products the most and I believed that they did the best on my skin. The only thing that is not pictured is my beloved Rimmel Stay matte powder because I have mentioned that at LEAST a million times by now. :) and on we roll!

Blushes:

Benefit's Bella Bamba: I'm not going to lie, I think that the packaging is nothing but annoying. It's bulky and big for basically no reason; BUT I love the color. The gorgeous pink with gold flecks of shimmer. I love that the payoff on the brush is just the correct amount and it's not crazy pigmented from one swipe. Absolutely beautiful color.

NARS Torrid: This was the first NARS product that I ever purchased and it led me into my deep pocketed love affair with NARS products. If you were going to compare Torrid to Bella Bamba, it's a lot more of a deep orange, so it's a coral color with gold shimmer. I love NARS packaging--who doesn't?-- because it's just so clean and simple.

MAC Melba: This blush has been my go-to blush for the past month. It's completely matte--no shimmer-- and it leans more to an orangey coral than just a straight up coral. MAC blushes are always super pigmented and with this one I find it just lovely that it's so pigmented little to no work goes into putting my blush on in the morning which is just what I need most mornings.

Lip products:

MAC Plumful: Perfect deep color for fall and winter even if it's not cold outside. I find the more layers you put on the more of a purple it becomes and that makes it my decision to how heavy or light I put it on. Also it's pretty long wearing if you don't eat or drink anything.

Clinique's chubby stick Mega Melon: Perfect coral color, not too bright, not too orange, just an all around lovely color for the lips. I reach for this color more than any other lip product I own as it is a perfect compliment to any of the looks that I wear. It just adds a little color but it's not distracting. Love that it's a twist up as well.

Eyeshadow:

Urban Decay Naked Palette: I know you must be thinking "gosh darnit! can't I get one yearly favorites without a darn naked palette:?!" and I'm going to just say no. For my deep brown eyes the colors in this palette really make them stand out, most specifically Toasted and Smog are great colors if you make one of them the base and build out from there. As you can tell, I've pretty much been attracted to toasted as it is full pan alert. Also a shout out to Sin a great champagne color.

theBalm's Nude 'Tude: This palette also has great colors in it. I'm going to just speak about Sleek though because it is the one color that I use every single day, and I don't ever change this in my routine. I use sleek as to line the waterline as it is a deep brown but it doesn't give the same look at a black, it's a lot softer and makes completes my eyes.

Concealer:

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector: Love the packaging, love the applicator, love the amount of product it has. Love the coverage that it gives for undereye and the occasional red mark. Just all around love it.

Rimmel Match Perfection: I originally bought this when I was a few shades tanner BUT even when I use it now it somehow brightens my entire face and makes it look a lot more put together. The coverage on this concealer is more on the heavier sides versus the Neutrogena is more of a lighter coverage.

Mascara:

Maybelline Rocket Volum': I just recently did a first impression on this mascara--link here-- and ever since I did, I've been using it frequently. It separates the lashes very well, is light and not too heavy. I'm not going to go too much into it since I did that post on it.

Maybelline Mega Plush Volum': This mascara has a very wet formula but it doesn't clump together as much as it should and doesn't weigh the lashes down. It curls very well and holds a curl when you do actually curl them. All around great mascara.

Covergirl Clump Crusher: Very dry formula, I can't tell you the amount of times I've poked myself in the eye with that brush while applying it. I have never had a clump while applying this. I should mention that I do not overload my eyes on mascara, if you saw the first impression on the Rocket Mascara then you'll see that I do not apply a lot of mascara at all. I just like my lashes to be separated and elongated, I'm not a person that needs them to be seen from across the room. That being said I do do several coats and since it is very dry it takes a lot more coats to get the same desired result.

Eyeliner:

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen: Very easy to apply, I've been using the same pen for a while now, and as it gets used the first coat is a bit liquidy but then you can just apply another and its golden. It hasn't always been like that I think I just need to get another pen as it may be running dry.

Eye Primer:

E.L.F eyelid primer: Hands down, no competition best eyelid primer I've ever used, I would even say best eyelid primer on the planet. I've used 18-25 dollar primer and this 1 dollar primer blows those out of the water. My eyeshadow stays put, no creasing, no nothing. I even have the champagne one that adds shimmer behind it and that one is just as great. Elf products are worth so much more than they cost, if you haven't tried I would. Seriously amazing.

I hope you enjoyed my best of 2013, what are yours? Link your posts below or just go ahead and tell me! If you like my posts, don't forget to follow! Hope you'll become a frequent reader!
