Motivational Wednesday/ Personal Struggle

When I looked through my collection of motivational photos on my computer this morning I stumbled across this one. Since I've been having such a hard time with the motivation, I almost didn't want to do a motivational Wednesday this week because it didn't feel right; then I realized that's even more of a reason to do it. I need the motivation this week. I need the pick me up. I need to know that I'll make it through this; and no, it's not easy.

I've never hit a wall like this before over the years that I've been trying to better my health. I think that getting over this--or through it-- will mark that I have changed as a person into a better one. I won't give up and I can't give up. I'm not quitting this time.

It hasn't been easy. Especially not lately. I know this post isn't like the usual motivational Wednesday's. The thing is is that I haven't been doing too much too fast or anything. I think I'm just getting discouraged because I'm not seeing results and in fact I've gained 8 pounds--and I'm sure it's not in a good way ie. not muscle mass-- so I'm not doing something right. I'll stick with it, I know I will.

I just gotta keep going. If you read my post yesterday, you know that I've been telling myself 'just give it a half hour, get up and do something for a half hour' That usually gets me through the workout. I'm trying to say that even though I am discouraged, I haven't given up. I haven't stopped working out. I haven't stopped trying, and that's what it's all about.

I'm sorry that this wasn't very motivational, I hope that you approve of my honesty. Let me know how you stay motivated, please.

Motivational Wednesday!

The way I see it, is a majority of people who fail with their fitness goal or dream is because they do too much, too fast. They decide one day to change in a good way. They do that by drastically changing something/everything.  Make small changes. If you drink 4 sodas a day aim for 2, if you drink large amounts of alcohol try changing it from 7 days a week to 4 days a week to start. Then as the weeks go on, lower the intake of whatever it is. If you stop all of it in one day the body does not react well as its used to having it and therefore it has an opposite effect of what you would like.
Earning a healthy body is not done overnight therefore your choices should not be put into action overnight. Take it slow. Even if it doesn't seem like much, it helps you and do not give up! Every little thing helps. Hell, getting up and walking around your living room every commercial break helps and that's a small thing to do.
Fitness does not require drastic changes overnight. It requires changes over months and months. As your body shows changes over the months so should your habits.
Keep that in mind and I hope you stick to your goal.

Motivational Wednesday #5 & December 18th LEG DAY;

Since another year is coming to an end, many many thousands of people are going to wish to get fit, lose weight, eat healthy, etc. for their New Year resolution. Of course, only a few people will actually stick with it and do it. Now, a lot of people fall of the bandwagon because either they believe it will happen in one day or they start too drastically(i.e.. going out and running 5 miles in one day, completely cutting out caffeine) and so they quit.

Everything is a work in progress, but this quote says a few things: think about what you eat, work for what you've always wanted, you have control over your own body. Generally food that I crave, like McDonalds, will make me feel really crappy soon after I eat it. But when I crave a salad it never makes me feel bad after I eat it and that was a realization that I had to make on my own; and I do still eat McDonalds every once in a while because their fries are just so good. It's just not nearly as much as I used too.

Also junk food is just fluff calories, not good calories, not filling calories.

Jellyfish at Birch Aquarium! PHOTO HEAVY

Around the Jellyfish, was the busiest part of the entire aquarium. They had set up one tank with multiple Jellyfish with changing lights and I loved the way that it looked so I thought that you might enjoy it as well. My favorite was the red light. :D

Birch Aquarium- San Diego, CA

Hey guys! Since I just moved here, I wanted to explore the area and see some of the must see's of San Diego. Of course the famous ones are the San Diego Zoo and Sea world; but the admission prices (Zoo-$44 each and Sea World-$88 each) are just out of our price range right now with all the moving expenses so I found this Aquarium online and decided hey! it's kind of like a zoo right?--no? okay then...-- Admission was a much better $17 a person and on a Tuesday morning (we went at 10am) it was pretty much empty.

The Aquarium portion of the place in itself was pretty small. It was a long u shaped hallway; but it had a lot of tanks inside with a lot of different fish/coral/organisms. Then there was another portion of the Aquarium which was a learning portion, it had a tide pool where you could touch the sea life that you could reach, also lots of interactive displays where you had to physically do something to see how it worked--ex. spinning a wheel to get two different type of light bulbs to light up. Overall it was nice. It took us about an hour to get through the entire thing.

I'm going to do another blog posts on just the Jellyfish portion because it was pretty cool. I'll link to that one here.

I had a lot of fun there seeing all the different types of fish and even got to see some small sharks and stingrays which were pretty cool--the pictures didn't turn out so well-- so I enjoyed myself!

I hope you enjoyed this post even though it's nowhere near fitness, or beauty. but hey, it's my life right now. Hope y'all enjoy!

Motivation Wednesday #3

Hey! I'm happily settled into the hotel now and I saw this on tumblr, and this is my motivation for this Wednesday! I like this one because it's not just motivation for working out or staying fit. It's motivation for life in general. The last one is incredibly important and that's the one that means the most. In fact, that's the reason for it being my MW--motivation Wednesday-- because it's that important. Just try your best and believe me, your best is good enough.

Your best will get better in time. Just keep trying your best and you will achieve your goal.

Sorry this is so late! I've been stressing out trying to find a house and such here. :) Follow me on Twitter and Instagram to keep up on my daily life!

Missing my babies

Have you ever run a busy household and then suddenly it all stop? That's how I feel right now,  and have been feeling for the passed few months. I saw the original post on instagram--which was a repost-- and all the sudden it hit me. I miss my babies. I have three pets. Have any of you lived with three pets? I bet some of you have. I have two large dogs---Rogue, a seven year old black lab mix and Le'a, a 2 year old hound mix-- and a cat-- Ratchet, she's two--. I was living where something is always going on.

Okay. Let me throw a disclaimer in here, I don't have kids, but yea I understand that it would be more difficult with kids. But right now, these are my kids.

I've been without them since July 16th, when we drove to Virginia. We left them with family so they are being taking care of, but I miss them. Missing that greeting at the front door, or --I never thought I'd say this-- but the rushing home after work to make sure the dogs go out to do their business.  I miss not being able to do whatever I wanted because I got dogs at home who wouldn't last 9+ hours without me. I just miss them. Their energy and being an everlasting animal lover, its super hard to live without animals.

And, they're super cute.

Ever feel like that?

Things I miss about Hawaii- PHOTO HEAVY

It's almost been a month since I moved away from Hawaii. I lived there for a reasonable amount of time. Got into a rhythm. It was the first place I had lived without my mom and with my husband so Hawaii was pretty big for me. I worked the entire time I lived there so I do miss that too especially my co workers and my friends. Those won't be pictured though. :) onto it!

Jillian Michaels: Extreme Shed and Shred.

Since my last post; I have driven across the country to Virginia and am now staying in a hotel. Let me just say that the stress of moving is the worst. My headaches were related to a Sinus infection but I feel like if I wasn't so stressed it wouldn't of affected me like that. We got to Virginia yesterday and we have already applied for an apartment. Lucky that a lot of places around here are open on Sunday's. In Washington most places like that aren't open on Sunday's.

I was so busy moving that I didn't run or workout for weeks. I did two of my 4.5 mile hikes but that wasn't enough. Also I've been eating a whole bunch of junk food on the road so my body has just hated me. I was halfway to clean eating and then I just threw all that to the wind. I have gained about 10 pounds and since I knew that I would be having a lot of time on my hands enter a new workout dvd.

Airplane Headaches;

Some back story first; my husband is in the military and with that means moving a lot. The past few weeks have been very stressful because of moving: making sure that the dogs are well enough to fly, making sure someone is there to pick them up, shipping both cars, getting all of our stuff packed. After everything was packed then I had to clean the house and make sure it passed inspection. SO we finally get to the airport and get on the plane. I had my CSI: NY on watched about 6 episodes--side note, the battery life on this MacBook is just amazing. It had 42% left after watching 6 episodes!-- I started getting this dull headache, thought nothing of it--headaches happen I actually thought that it was my headphones because I had never worn them that long before. Well when we started to descend it felt like my head was about to explode, so much pressure had built up all I could do was just cry. Couldn't stop myself, the tears were just rolling down my face, my head was piercing pain with random shots of more pain. The pain was almost unbearable and it's not like you can just ask the pilot to slow down with the descent--ha...
